About
I design learning experiences where human-centered design meets deep educational strategy.
With a Ph.D. in Educational Technology and over a decade of multi-industry experience, I specialize in transforming complex technical systems, software transitions, and high-level training concepts into seamless, engaging, and measurable learning journeys.
My approach to Instructional Design is enriched by two distinct past lives:
Trained in UX design, I don’t just build curriculum – I champion the learner’s journey. By applying user research, empathy mapping, prototyping, and accessibility principles, I ensure every digital environment I build is intuitive, interactive, and optimized for cognitive load.
With my previous experience as an academic & emerging tech librarian, I’m a natural information architect. My background in curation, information literacy, and taxonomies allows me to break down massive, disparate blocks of organizational data into highly navigable, structured learning pathways and robust LMS catalogs.
Beyond the digital classroom, my professional philosophy centers on servant leadership—a mindset I carry directly from my work as an Agile Coach and my community service. As the Chapter Chair and an Excursions Leader for the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) New Hampshire Chapter, I regularly lead cross-functional volunteer committees, direct outdoor initiatives, and guide diverse groups through challenging environments. Whether managing enterprise training deployments or navigating a mountain trail, my focus remains on fostering collaboration, building psychological safety, and empowering people to succeed.
When I’m not working, I am exploring the wilderness on foot or in my kayak, taking photographs, or teaching yoga. I love organizing excursions into the outdoors for people of all levels, allowing everyone to access the healing and rejuvenating power of nature. I am a four-season hike leader for the Appalachian Mountain Club, where I also lead kayaking adventures, and I’m a New Hampshire State ambassador for LGBTQ Outdoors. I write for, co-edit, and design for a small nature journal and have written two novels and several short stories, and my photography has been shown in numerous local exhibits.
